DARPA and Maryland team up on the Quantum Benchmarking Initiative

By working together, we can build the quantum future we want, faster.
At the same time that Brad Smith’s thoughtful blog post on American leadership in quantum technology started circulating, I had the good fortune of attending the announcement by DARPA and the State of Maryland on their joint funding agreement supporting the Quantum Benchmarking Initiative.
It is frameworks like these that will enable public-private partnerships to flourish. And, as I have said before, these crucibles of talent, infrastructure, and mission are what we need to succeed.
